About

Makerere Innovation Society is a youth-led network of innovators in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in East Africa with the aim of growing and supporting more innovators & entrepreneurs

We promote - Innovation, Leadership, Entrepreneurship & STEM

Welcome to MIS

MIS is rooted in an ideal: to create the future of millions of children and youth in East Africa while creating more job opportunities for the increasing population.

When we started in November 2018, our aim was to promote innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship & STEM among students in primary schools, secondary schools, and tertiary institutions while creating a network of innovators in these institutions across East Africa. In 2019, we extended our activities to marginalised communities to ensure no one is left behind.

Our Executive Committee

We live and breathe our purpose reflected in our mission statement so that it shines through every product or service our innovators/leaders/entrepreneurs offer, every stakeholder & partner we work with and every initiative we take on. Together, we can build a better society for all of us & generations which will come after us.

The Makerere Innovation Society executive committee is composed of 6 directors who support regional ambassadors and their management teams in the implementation of the MIS strategic plan.
